About

The Floyd Lewis Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization established in May of 2014. It is our vision to impact our community by engaging in service projects and funding activities which will make Burlington and Coffey County, KS a better place to live and work.

We try to emulate the values and causes for which our foundations namesake, Floyd A. Lewis, stood. Floyd was active in city government and civic groups for many years in Burlington, while spending his hours away from work supporting youth activities, especially baseball, serving as 3-2 commissioner for many years. Floyd was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class and serving in the Pacific theatre during WWII. He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion following his return home.
