Citizen Of The Year

The Floyd Lewis Foundation proudly acknowledges the contributions of citizens in Coffey County who seek to improve the community through their compassion, generosity, and talent, thereby supporting the mission of the Floyd Lewis Foundation. The Floyd Lewis Foundation will recognize an individual(s) annually as the Citizen of the Year. The criteria used during the nomination and selection process, in total or in part, will be based on the accomplishments of the individual(s) during the last year.

Criteria such as the following will be considered:

  • Actively involved in the community and encourages involvement of others
  • Support, promote, and enhance the community and its activities
  • Show a patriotic spirit
  • Have compassion for others
  • Support education
  • Leadership in clubs, boards, and organizations
  • Volunteer unselfishly

The Citizen of the Year will be nominated by Floyd Lewis Foundation Board members at the April meeting. A majority vote by the Board will select the individual(s) as Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year will be announced at the Floyd Lewis Golf Classic in June.
