The Floyd Lewis Foundation has three main fundraising avenues:
- The Floyd Lewis Golf Classic which is held the 2nd Saturday of June each year
- Bingo held each Wednesday evening at Rock Creek Country Club: Doors open at 5PM. Early bird games begin at 6:30PM. Regular games at 7:00PM.
- We also receive funding from numerous gracious memorial contributions.
The Floyd Lewis Foundation is actively involved in many projects throughout Coffey County and Burlington, including but not limited to:
- Veteran’s Day Celebration- Held annually the week of Veteran’s Day
- Veteran’s Banner Project – Annually for a month surrounding Veteran’s Day
- Annual home makeover for needy family in Coffey County
- Christmas On Us: Annually provide Christmas offerings to families who cannot afford their own
- Scholarships presented to several graduating seniors in Coffey County annually: Floyd Lewis Proud American Scholarship, Loran’s Legacy Home From The Heart Scholarship, Debra Gates Lewis Memorial Believe Scholarship
- Sponsor of 21st Century After School Program
- Floyd Lewis Foundation “Back To School” project
- Provides funding for 4-H endeavors
- Provides funding for Boy Scouts endeavors
- Community Awards – 1. Citizen of the Year Award 2. Floyd Lewis Foundation Legacy Award, and 3. Friends of Floyd Lewis Foundation. These are all presented annually to a deserving citizen(s).
